Build My Ikigai brings together support for people who want to build something meaningful: a livelihood, a business, a creative venture or a contribution to their community.

It grows from Marc Winn's work on meaning, useful connections and human agency as technology changes what becomes possible.

The diagram and the wider idea

In 2014, Marc joined the word ikigai to Andrés Zuzunaga's existing purpose diagram. That Western reflection tool is distinct from the broader Japanese concept. Meaning does not require your interests, contribution and income to fit into one job.
