Give a creative idea somewhere to grow
Make a small piece of work, find your people and choose support that fits.
- Choose one piece of work you can finish with the time, materials and money you have. You do not need to turn every interest into a business.
- Find a small audience or a group that cares about the work. Ask what speaks to them and what they would like to see next.
- Keep a simple record of what you make and learn. A portfolio, invitation or evidence of community work may matter more than a polished pitch.
- Choose help for the actual next step: a tool, collaborator, local network, mentor or residency. Read eligibility before spending time on a competitive grant.
- If support involves travel, check timing, visas, access needs, your contribution and reporting. Plan a useful next step even if the application is unsuccessful.
What could you make, share or try without waiting to be selected?
